Acorus calamus / Sweet Flag
Sweet flag is a wetland plant that has naturalized in North America ever since it was brought with Europeans. Though its flowers are more peculiar than ornamental, the roots have a long history of medicinal and practical use, including for natural insecticides and perfumes. Plant sweet flag in full sun to part shade (afternoon shade preferred) with moist to wet soils.
