Actaea pachypoda / Doll's Eyes
Couldn't load pickup availability
This unusual native species is reminiscent of a Tim Burton movie, with eyeball-looking fruit atop bright red stalks, hence the name "Doll's Eyes". While it might be bizarre, it certainly adds a long season of interest to the woodland garden, as it also produces delicate, beautiful white flowers in the spring. Doll's Eyes prefers rich soil and dappled shade. Too much sun will cause the leaves to yellow.
