Maclura pomifera / Osage Orange
Couldn't load pickup availability
Osage orange has a long history of use by both Native Americans and European settlers. The dense wood was a common material in bows and when pruned to a hedge, made a formidable fence with sharp spines throughout the branches. Some people today claim the large, orange-shaped fruit can repel insects. This medium-sized tree grows 35 to 60 feet tall and grows in full sun to part shade in dry to medium soils.
