The Malva is a group of plants that goes by the common name “cheeses,” so named for their round fruit resembling a cheese wheel. Herbalists use the leaves topically for the skin or make it into tea. Malva sylvestris, or high mallow, is a Eurasian species that produces soft pink flowers with magenta stripes down the petals that creates a stunning contrast. High mallow grows 2 to 4 feet tall and grows best in average soils with full sun to part shade.
