Pinus resinosa / Red Pine

A large native pine with dark evergreen foliage, Red Pine is a tough tree that thrives in sunny locations with low nutrient, sandy, well draining soil. Gets 50 to 80 feet tall and up to 40 feet wide so make sure you plan the space. As a northern species native to cooler regions of North America, avoid planting in locations that get too hot, like next to parking lots.
