Tradescantia ohiensis / Ohio spiderwort

Tradescantia ohiensis, the ohio spiderwort, is a clump-forming spiderwort that has beautiful, delicate purple flowers and bright yellow stamens. Their blooms tend to emerge in the morning and shrink back in the heat of the day. Does best in full sun and sandy soil. It can reach heights of 2-3ft. Possible fall bloom can be encouraged by cutting back to 6”-12” mid-summer.
