Vitis labrusca / Fox Grape
Couldn't load pickup availability
Fox Grape is the North American native parent of many grape cultivars including Concord, Niagara, and more. Vitis labrusca grapes have the slip-skin characteristic in which the skins easily slip off, and the “foxy” musky, earthy flavor/texture that’s widely recognized in Concord Grapes. This native parent variety of Vitis labrusca features smaller grapes than the cultivars, and can range in flavor from sweet to tart to sour, and some find the “foxiness” overwhelming, but it can be used in wine-making and it makes fantastic jams, and pies.
