Collection: DRAGONFLY - Local Ecotypes
Dragonfly Nurseries is a Rhode Island–based wholesale native plant nursery dedicated to cultivating and expanding access to ecotypic plants native to the New England region and the broader ECO-59 ecoregion, which extends into southern New York. Born out of founder Meg Gallagher’s need for dependable, regionally appropriate native plants for her sister company, Wild & Scenic, Dragonfly was created in response to the rising demand for native plant borders, coastal restoration projects, meadows, pollinator habitats, and resilient landscapes throughout the Northeast.
A woman-owned business, Dragonfly Nurseries combines ecological expertise with practical growing experience. Meg’s background in wildlife biology helps shape the nursery’s mission of producing plants that do more than look beautiful—they sustain pollinators, support wildlife, and strengthen healthy ecosystems. As a wholesale nursery, Dragonfly partners with landscape professionals, municipalities, state and federal agencies, environmental organizations, and Indigenous nations and tribes to support ecological restoration, local stewardship, and conservation. Central to the nursery’s vision is community and cultural resilience.
Dragonfly Nurseries grow a diverse selection of native perennials, grasses, shrubs, and trees for residential, retail, restoration, and conservation use. The nursery is equally committed to sustainability, utilizing peat-free potting soil, recycled plastic pots, and growing practices free from neonicotinoids. Through reliable sourcing and contract-growing services, Dragonfly Nurseries provides high-quality native plants that ensure long-term landscape success while making ecotypic native plants more accessible to communities, landscapes, and retail customers throughout the ECO-59 region.
