Asarum canadense / Wild Ginger

Wild Ginger is a gift that keeps on giving. This native groundcover produces dense patches of large, heart shaped, deep green leaves and looks especially beautiful framing the base of a tree. The flowers require you to stoop down to their level - the unique, maroon flowers are tucked below the leaves but are well worth the effort. Wild Ginger grows best in part to full shade and rich, moist soil.
