Calamagrostis canadensis / Bluejoint Grass
Though not the showiest of grasses, Bluejoint grass adds a soft texture to the garden all season long. This cool season grass grows blue-green in the summer before the flower plumes turn a blonde color in the fall, and continues to add interest well into winter. Bluejoint grass also has an important role in streambank restoration as its rhizomatous roots help to control erosion. Grows 4 feet tall and prefers full sun to part shade with medium to wet soil.
