Celtis occidentalis / Hackberry

Celtis occidentalis is a tough tree. It prefers moist, well-drained, rich soils in full sun, but will tolerate wet, dry, infertile soils, part shade, and polluted air making it a great choice for urban landscapes and climate change resilience planning. Grows 40 to 60 feet tall with a similar spread.
