Chamaecyparis thyoides / Atlantic White Cedar

This native and scale-leaved evergreen tree forms dense canopies in wet forests, wetland and stream borders, and overall prefers sandy, peaty, acidic soils. Atlantic White Cedars also provide winter cover for wildlife, and are a larval host plant for butterflies.
