Crataegus phaenopyrum / Washington Hawthorn
Washington Hawthorn (Crataegus phaenopyrum) is a deciduous tree reaching 20-30 tall and wide, with a rounded crown and thorny branches. Its leaves change from reddish-purple in spring to green in summer, and vibrant orange, red, and purple in fall.
Late spring white flowers attract pollinators, followed by red fruits persisting into winter. Adaptable to various soils and thrives in full sun.
Drought-tolerant when mature and can tolerate most types of soil.
