Diospyros virginiana / American Persimmon

Many Diospyros virginiana varieties need a male and female tree to get fruit. Plant this variety for restoration purposes - fruit or no fruit, they are great trees! They are also excellent for fall color as their glossy leaves turn lush shades of yellow, pink, and red. As a medium size tree, they grow up to 35-60 ft tall. This tough tree works in full sun to part shade and dry to medium soil.
