Echinacea purpurea / Purple Coneflower 'Pow Wow Wildberry'

If you’ve only got room for one perennial plant, Echinacea purpurea is certainly a contender. Long lasting blooms (July through October) attract bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects. These long-lived herbaceous perennials are easy to grow in full sun to part shade. They spread gently by clumping and seed if you leave seed heads in place over winter, but they can also be dead-headed to prolong the bloom season and are excellent for cut flowers. The 'pow wow wild berry' cultivar has a vibrant rosy hue to its flowers, of which it is known for having many of, and it doesn't get as tall as the straight species, typically growing to about 2ft.
