Elymus virginicus / Virginia Wild Rye
Couldn't load pickup availability
Virginia Wild Rye is a tall, ornamental grass that is a great asset in erosion control. In contrast to most other grasses, it grows in both sun and shade. The flowers and leaves are a source of food for many insects. As the flowers mature to seed, they form tan and crimson spikes atop this short-lived grass in the fall. Virginia wild rye grows 2-4 feet tall and prefers average to wet soils.
