Ilex verticillata 'Red Sprite' / Dwarf Female Winterberry

lex verticillata provides stunning bright red berries in the wintertime that are beautiful and can be an important food-source for birds in the winter. Typically grows 6-12' tall as a multi stemmed shrub. Best planted in average - wet soil in full to part sun.

'Red Sprite' is a dwarf female cultivar growing 3 to 5 ft tall. Flowers emerge earlier than most other Winterberries so you must have a male that flowers early. Plant Ilex verticillata 'Jim Dandy' nearby to pollinate 'Red Sprite' for berries.
