Iris versicolor / Blue Flag Iris

Though irises are often seen as exotic, ornamental plants, blue flag iris is actually native to New York! Growing to about 2 to 3 feet tall, this iris produces beautiful, light blue flowers in early summer. Best planted in full sun to part shade with medium to wet soil.
