Liatris scariosa / Savanna Blazing Star

Liatris scariosa is the Blazing Star for drier, rocky soil conditions. If you have more moist soil conditions, choose Liatris spicata instead. Liatris scariosa features showy purple blooms that attract butterflies and hummingbirds in August to October, providing an important source of food for them later in the season. Savanna Blazing Star is an awesomely wild looking plant! Grows 2 to 4 feet tall with a 1 to 2 foot spread. Plant in full sun in dry to medium soils.
