Nepeta cataria / Catmint

Catmint is a long-blooming perennial which grows around 2 feet tall by about 2 feet wide. Catmint has long had medicinal use for promoting calmness and mental well being, not to mention its intoxicating effect on cats! Plant in full-sun to part shade with dry to medium, well-drained soil. Deadhead the flowers if self-sowing is not desired. Catmint feeds butterflies and other beneficial insects, but tolerates deer and rabbit browsing, making it an easy winner for the sun garden.
