Onoclea sensibilis / Sensitive Fern

Onoclea sensibilis is commonly known as the sensitive fern and is a large, deciduous species of fern. It has distinctively coarse lobed leaflets that are a bright, lime green in color. Fertile fronds appear in summer that have a bead-like appearance and will remain upright throughout the winter. Sensitive fern grows best in full-to partial shade in moist soils. It can grow in average garden soils as long as it is not allowed to dry out.
