Osmunda cinnamomea / Cinnamon Fern

Osmunda cinnamomea is the fern for the wet, shady spot in your garden. Although we wish Cinnamon Ferns smelled or tasted like Cinnamon, the species name only refers to the color at the base of the fronds. But don’t let that stop you from planting them. They’re gorgeous ferns as long as they’re planted in wet shady spots with acidic soils. Plants grow 2 to 3 feet tall with a similar spread.
