Pycnanthemum muticum / Short-Toothed Mountain Mint
The flowers of Pycnanthemum muticum are greenish white in color and tend to blend in with the foliage - not the most visually stimulating flowers at the garden center. But these plants are astoundingly FULL of beneficial pollinator insects from July through September. If you want to feed insects in your garden (and we hope you do), then you need yourself some Short-Toothed Mountain Mint. The flowers and foliage give off an incredibly strong minty fragrance as well. Plant in full sun to part shade in fertile, moist to medium well-draining soils. Grows 1 to 3 feet tall.
