Solidago odora / Sweet Goldenrod

Also known as anise-scented goldenrod, this species distinctly smells like anise or licorice when you break the leaves. If you’re fond of the smell, you can even make a tea out of it! Sweet goldenrod is less aggressive than other species so it’s great for a small garden. Tolerates poor, dry soil, but does need full sun.
