Trillium luteum / Yellow trillium

A classic spring ephemeral of the Northeast landscape, yellow trillium is an excellent addition to the woodland garden bed and mixes well with other spring wildflowers and ferns. This simple but beautiful flower emerges in early spring before the canopy leaves emerge, and goes dormant again in the heat of the summer. Grows best in part to full shade with rich, moist soil.
